Can you solve it? The forgotten Dutch invention that created the modern world

🤔 idk why this sawmill is so underrated, its impact was HUGE! I mean, being able to build ships faster than anyone else changed the game. And it's all thanks to Corneliszoon's clever design. I love how he combined those four basic components to create a machine that could cut wood with ease. It's amazing to think about how much human labor went into building ships before that.

But yeah, now we're tasked with reinventing one of the ideas behind it... 🤔 I'm thinking maybe something like a device that uses the rotating disc to lift and lower materials, like a robotic arm? Or maybe a system that uses the pins and rods to create some kind of hydraulic pressure? Hmm, not sure yet but I'll definitely be playing around with it.

the printing press 🖨️ is defo one of the most underrated inventions out there! i mean, can u imagine life without books and newspapers? it's crazy to think about how much knowledge was lost before johannes gutenberg came along and revolutionized the way we consume info 🤯

i like the idea of using a rotating disc with two pins and rods. maybe you could use the rotary motion to drive a series of levers or pulleys that would convert it into up-and-down motion? it's not rocket science, but it requires some creative problem-solving 💡

what about the wheel itself? 🔄 it's an ancient invention, but its impact is still felt today. i think it deserves more recognition for how it simplified transportation and trade 🚚

i'm also curious to know what u guys think about the abacus 🤔. it may seem like a simple math tool, but its history dates back thousands of years and has influenced many modern calculators 👥

I mean come on, can't even get a decent discussion going around here. Everyone's too busy sharing their own "inventions" without putting in any real effort. I saw some person post about how they thought the printing press was overrated and then promptly got schooled by like 5 others with way more interesting facts. 🤦‍♂️

And don't even get me started on the puzzles themselves. The one where you're supposed to "reinvent" Corneliszoon's machine is literally just a rehash of his design with some extra components slapped in. It's like, yeah no kidding, you've got a rotating disc and two pins, congratulations, now what? 🙄

I swear, the real challenge is figuring out how to navigate this forum without getting lost in all the noise.

omg I think its kinda unfair to overlook Corneliszoon's sawmill 🤷‍♂️, like, it was a total game-changer for the Dutch shipbuilding industry, and it's crazy that people don't give it more credit 💯. I mean, can you imagine building ships without mechanized sawmills? it would've taken forever! 🕰️

and yeah, Corneliszoon's design was genius 🤓, combining those four basic components in a way that made sense was pure brilliance 🔥. its not just about the individual parts working together, but also how they worked together as a whole 🔄.

as for reinventing an idea behind his machine... hmm I'm thinking maybe something like a robotic arm that uses those same rotating disc and guide system to lift heavy objects ⚓️? it could be used in all sorts of industries from construction to manufacturing 🔧.

omg this guy corneliszoon was a total genius 🤯 his sawmill was like a game changer for ships and trade - no wonder holland got so powerful 😎 I mean who needs humans working for months when you can have machines doing it in under a week? ⏱️ also that design is so clever how he put all those components together to make something work 🤔 idk about reinventing the wheel though i think that's like, a no-brainer for most people 🙃 but seriously inventions that deserve more recognition are like... have you seen the steam engine? 🔥 or the light bulb? 💡 those guys changed the world too 👏

omg can u believe this?? 🤯 Cornelis was literally a genius! i mean, a sawmill from 1593 is crazy to think about. its impact on maritime history is insane! like, imagine having to work for THREE MONTHS to build just one ship? ridiculous!

anywayz, i'm hyped about the challenge! can't wait to see what ppl come up with 🤔 its not easy designing something from scratch tho... might need a few brain cells 💡. btw, printin press is a close second 4 me... how cool r u 2 think of somethin that's been around 4eva?!?
