Box Office: ‘Now You See Me 3’ Makes $2.1 Million in Previews, Beating ‘Running Man’ With $1.9 Million

Paramount's dystopian thriller "The Running Man" is set to face off against Lionsgate's magic heist movie "Now You See Me: Now You Don't" at the box office this weekend, with both films predicted to take home $20 million to $25 million.

According to latest numbers, Lionsgate's film has taken in $2.1 million in previews, narrowly edging out its rival, Paramount's "The Running Man," which has made $1.9 million so far.

Both movies are poised to dethrone last week's box office champion, Disney's "Predator: Badlands," which is estimated to make between $18 million and $20 million in its second weekend. The decline from last week's opening of $40 million marks a typical 50% drop for the franchise's sophomore outing.

For its part, Paramount's "The Running Man" boasts an ensemble cast featuring Josh Brolin, Glen Powell, Colman Domingo, and Michael Cera. With a budget of $110 million, it will need to perform well over Thanksgiving weekend to stay profitable.

In contrast, Lionsgate's "Now You See Me: Now You Don't" brings back the magic with Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Lizzy Caplan, and Isla Fisher in its third installment. The new addition of Rosamund Pike, Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt aims to breathe fresh air into the series. With a budget of roughly $90 million, the film is looking set to outperform expectations.

The two films' box office showdown has all eyes on them this weekend, as they battle for supremacy and prove which magic trick will leave audiences spellbound.

I'm so hyped for both movies this weekend! 🎥💥 I've been waiting for a new "Now You See Me" film for ages and the addition of Rosamund Pike is like the icing on the cake 🍰👏 The ensemble cast for "The Running Man" looks super strong too, especially with Josh Brolin in it 😎 But honestly, I think Lionsgate's got this one - their movies always have that magic ✨ Can't wait to see which one comes out on top! 🤩

🤔 I'm so over these blockbuster movies taking up our time and resources. It's like the government is investing in entertainment instead of infrastructure or social programs 🚧💸. The fact that both films are predicted to take home $20 million to $25 million just goes to show how skewed our priorities have become. We should be focusing on issues that actually affect people's lives, not just mindless action and magic tricks. And let's be real, who needs a movie with a budget of $110 million when there are real-world problems we could be solving? 🤷‍♂️💸 It's time to rethink what we're investing in and put the focus back on what really matters 🎬👍

omg i'm so hyped 4 both of these movies!!! 🤩 i mean, who doesnt love a good dystopian thriller or a magical heist?!? personally i think its gonna be close b/t "The Running Man" & "Now You See Me: Now You Don't" cuz both have such talented casts. josh brolin & glen powell r looking fierce in "Running Man" but then u got the magic crew from "Now You See Me"... rosamund pike is like my ultimate fave! 🙌 anyway, cant wait 2 see which one comes out on top... might just have to drag some friends 2 the movies this wknd 😄

It's gonna be an interesting box office showdown 💸🎥 between these two movies! I'm intrigued by the new addition to "Now You See Me: Now You Don't" - Rosamund Pike is a great actress, she always brings that magic to her roles 🤩. Meanwhile, "The Running Man" has a pretty cool ensemble cast, but I think Lionsgate's film might have an edge with its budget and star power 💪. It'll be hard for Paramount's movie to outperform expectations after such a big budget 🤑. But hey, anything can happen in the world of entertainment, right? 🎬

man, i'm so down for both these movies 🎬, but at the same time, can we talk about how both of these movies are kinda like the aughts or whatever? like, "The Running Man" is just another take on the whole 'survival game show' thing, and it's got that same gritty vibe as some of those older films 🤖... and then there's "Now You See Me: Now You Don't", which is just more of the same magic heist shenanigans that we all loved back in the day 🔮.

but for real though, $20 million to $25 million is a lot of dough 💸, so whoever comes out on top is gonna be doing alright 🤑... and it's cool to see rosamund pike joining the now you see me crew 👯‍♀️, she always brings that extra somethin' 💁‍♀️. anywayz, can't wait to see which one comes out on top this weekend 🤔

omg, i just can't wait to see these movies come to life on the big screen 🎥!!! i mean, who doesn't love a good dystopian thriller or magic heist? josh brolin is like, my absolute fave actor ever 😍 and the cast of now you see me: now you don't looks like it's going to be epic! but at the same time, glen powell in "the running man" sounds soooo good 🤩... i'm just hoping both movies bring home those $20 million bucks and make my thursday night movie trip even more magical 🎊

I'm still not sure why movies have to be so intense like that 🤔. Can't we just watch a light-hearted rom-com for once? I mean, my kid can't even handle the violence in some of these movies... I swear, they need therapy after watching something like "The Running Man" 😲. And don't even get me started on the budget - $110 million?! That's crazy 💸. Can you imagine how much that money could be spent on kid's education or extracurricular activities instead? 🤷‍♀️
