Belkin is recalling its iPhone tracking stand and two power banks due to fire risks

Belkin is issuing a massive recall for its popular iPhone tracking stand, Auto-Tracking Stand Pro, and two power banks due to the risk of overheating lithium-ion batteries, which could lead to fires. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has received reports of at least one fire in the US and 15 incidents worldwide, resulting in minor burns and property damage totaling $37,765.

The recall affects approximately 83,500 units sold in the US between August 2020 and August 2025, as well as 2,385 units in Canada. Belkin is urging customers to stop using the recalled devices immediately and can provide a full refund or store credit for the full purchase amount plus a 20% bonus.

To facilitate the return process, customers will need to fill out a recall claim form on Belkin's website, providing their receipt and device serial number. Once submitted, the customer should properly dispose of the recalled device at an authorized facility that can handle defective lithium-ion batteries. It is essential not to dispose of the devices in regular trash or recycling bins.

The affected products are easily identifiable by their model numbers: MMA008 for the Auto-Tracking Stand Pro and BPB002 or PB0003 for the power banks.

You can't have a billion-dollar dream with 100-cent ideas ๐Ÿ’ธ. Belkin's massive recall is a harsh reminder that even seemingly innocuous products can pose significant risks to consumers. The fact that fires and property damage have occurred highlights the importance of prioritizing safety above all else ๐Ÿ”ฅ. While I'm sure many users didn't experience any issues, it's reassuring to know that Belkin is taking responsibility and offering full refunds or store credits for those affected ๐Ÿ™.

oh noooo ๐Ÿ˜ฑ i'm so sorry to hear that belkin is recalling those products!!! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ˜ฌ who would've thought that lithium-ion batteries could cause a fire? ๐Ÿคฏ anyway, at least belkin is taking responsibility and offering refunds/stores credit ๐Ÿ™...customers should definitely prioritize their safety and follow the recall process carefully ๐Ÿ‘ 83k units in the us? ๐Ÿ˜ฒ what are the chances?! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ gotta be super careful when dealing with batteries, right? ๐Ÿ’ก

OMG, like I was using that stand all the time lol. Can't believe Belkin is issuing a recall. Total bummer. So they gotta take back all these units ASAP. Hope ppl don't try to hold onto 'em... 83k+ units in the US? That's crazy! And the fact that there were fires worldwide is super concerning. Glad they're offering refunds tho, at least customers won't be out the money completely

OMG, just read that Belkin is recalling those popular iPhone stands and power banks ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ’ฅ I'm not surprised though, lithium-ion batteries can be super finicky and sometimes they just decide to go haywire ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. 83k units in the US? That's a lot of people who might have gotten burned (literally or figuratively) by these products. Glad Belkin is taking responsibility and offering refunds, that's super nice of them ๐Ÿ™. Anyone know if their website is gonna get slammed with recall forms? Hopefully they can handle it smoothly ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿšจ OMG, this is crazy! I had one of those stands for my phone and it was so convenient! But I guess safety always comes first, right? ๐Ÿ˜… I'm shocked to hear about fires happening due to overheating batteries... that's just terrible. It's good that Belkin is being responsible and issuing a recall. I hope people who bought these products are getting their money back soon ๐Ÿ’ธ. And can you believe there was a fire in the US already?! ๐Ÿคฏ At least no one got seriously hurt, though. Just minor burns... let's just say it could've been worse ๐Ÿ˜”.

I mean, 83k units sold? That's a lot of people potentially at risk... I'm glad Belkin is taking responsibility and offering refunds, it's better than nothing ๐Ÿค”. I've used that stand before, love how it tracks your phone, but I guess you can't always have the best tech without some risks involved. Anyone else had any issues with their Auto-Tracking Stand Pro?

OMG, like seriously? Another recall due to overheating batteries ๐Ÿคฏ! I mean, I get it, safety first and all that jazz ๐Ÿ’ฏ, but come on, isn't this just another example of how we're still relying on tech from like 5 years ago?! These power banks are from 2020... shouldn't they have been upgraded by now? ๐Ÿ™„ And the fact that there's already been a fire in the US and 15 incidents worldwide is pretty scary ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. I'm all for refunds and store credits, but it just feels like Belkin should've caught this issue sooner ๐Ÿค”. Anyway, at least they're making it easy to return them now ๐Ÿ’จ.

I don't usually comment but... I'm shocked when I heard about this recall ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. Like, who expects their phone stand to catch on fire?! It's just not something you think about, you know? And 15 incidents worldwide is pretty crazy, especially with only minor burns and damage ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, I've had my fair share of overcharging issues with my old laptop battery, but that's different... this is like a whole new level of risk ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. What really gets me is the fact that it affects so many people - 83,500 units in the US alone! That's a lot of unnecessary stress and worry ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. I guess you have to be more careful with your purchases now... and what if this was just the tip of the iceberg? ๐Ÿค”

just got the scoop on this belkin recall ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ and i gotta say, 83k units sold? that's a lot of people getting burned (literally). i mean, $37k in damages from fires? not bad, but belkin's being super proactive by offering refunds and store credit. props to them for taking responsibility. the thing is, lithium-ion batteries are pretty finicky, so it's no surprise they're having issues. still, gotta keep an eye out for these recalls, you know? can't have people getting hurt over a faulty gadget ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I'm totally surprised Belkin would issue a recall this late. I mean, it's been out on the market since 2020! You'd think they'd've caught those overheating issues by now ๐Ÿค”. Still, gotta give 'em props for being proactive and taking responsibility for the problem. It's just frustrating that people are getting hurt - minor burns aren't nothing, you know? ๐Ÿค•

I also wonder how many of these recall notices were going to go out before the incidents started piling up... Was Belkin just waiting for someone to get seriously injured or something? Either way, I'm glad they're offering refunds and store credit. It's not ideal, but it's better than getting sued into oblivion ๐Ÿ’ธ.

The fact that people are gonna have to deal with lithium-ion battery disposal is just a pain ๐Ÿšฎ. You'd think there'd be some sort of universal standard for safe disposal or something... Anyway, just hope this whole thing gets sorted out without too much drama ๐Ÿ˜ฌ.

Ugh, I'm so done with these huge tech recalls ๐Ÿ™„. Can't even trust a popular brand like Belkin right? Like, who designs a product that's literally just meant to track an iPhone and overheat after a few months of use? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ It's not exactly the most impressive design, but I guess that comes with the risk of getting recalled. Still, $37,765 in damages is pretty crazy... sounds like some people were super unlucky ๐Ÿค•. Anyway, at least Belkin is being proactive and offering full refunds or store credit - can't say much for their product safety skills, though ๐Ÿ˜’.

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ”ฅ Omg, can't believe Belkin is recalling 83k+ products due to overheating batteries - so many people could've gotten hurt! ๐Ÿ’” Need more safety testing before these gadgets hit the market ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Oh man, I'm still having flashbacks of using my old iPhone case that had a built-in stand ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ‘ back in 2012. Remember those? Anyway, this latest recall news is kinda scary - Belkin's tracking stand and power banks are being pulled from the market due to overheating batteries... it's like, what's next? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ I'm glad they're taking responsibility and offering refunds or store credits, but I just wish we could go back to a time when tech was more straightforward ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. Anyway, I guess this is a good reminder to always be cautious with our gadgets... and not to throw away our old iPhones in the trash ๐Ÿšฎ.
