A Tragic Turn of Events on Staten Island: 6-Year-Old Girl Loses Fight After Fatal Crash
In a devastating turn of events, six-year-old Anheli Vasquez-Trinidad succumbed to her injuries just two days after being critically injured in a car crash on Staten Island. The young girl was hospitalized following the collision with an SUV at the intersection of Rockland Avenue and Forest Hill Road, which occurred around 10 a.m. last Friday.
According to authorities, Anheli was riding in a Honda when it collided with another vehicle, an Audi Q5, driven by a 50-year-old man. The Audi driver reportedly attempted to turn left onto Forest Hill Road, crossing in front of the Honda and resulting in the fatal crash.
Tragically, three lives were lost in the incident: Anheli Vasquez-Trinidad was pronounced dead at the hospital; an elderly woman, believed to be around 70 years old, suffered critical injuries but remains stable; and a 90-year-old man also perished. The 50-year-old Audi driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is currently investigating the incident, with no arrests made thus far.
