The thought of thousands of people going without their monthly stipend is just heartbreaking

, you know? I mean, think about it, 95 million meals for NYC residents - that's a huge number, and for people who rely on SNAP to get by, this would be like taking away their safety net. And what really gets me is the fact that some families might have to send their kids out to gather food, can you even imagine?

It's just not right.
Now, I'm all for local organizations stepping up and helping out, but it's also the responsibility of lawmakers to intervene here

. I mean, we know that contingency funding is available, so why not use it to keep the program funded? One-day delay could have serious consequences for families who are already struggling.
I've been hearing a lot about City Harvest and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, doing their part to support those in need

. It's great to see businesses waiving delivery fees too - that's just awesome

. But at the end of the day, this is all about people's lives, and we should be doing everything we can to ensure they're not left without food on the table

.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something gets done before November 1st

, for everyone's sake!
