First Thing: Trump says rare earths deal and tariff cut agreed with China

omg i cant believe we r actually seeing this happen like remember when trump was all about trade wars and stuff and now china is agreeing to basically do everything america wants lol what's next? i guess its good that soybeans are getting more play though, our farmers r always talking about how much they need the market anyway, hope it actually sticks this time and not just some short-term thing

I'm not sure I fully trust this deal yet . The US and China have been at odds for so long over trade and other issues, it's hard to see how a deal like this can hold up. Rare earths are a key component in all sorts of modern technologies, from smartphones to electric cars, so lifting those restrictions could be a big win for Chinese manufacturers. But what about the soybeans? Is this really just about trade, or is there something more going on here? And what's to stop China from backing out now that the deal is on the table?

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s kinda weird that they just sorta made friends outta nowhere . Like, we were all hearing about how tense things were between China and the US over trade and stuff, and then suddenly there's this announcement that everything is gonna be okay . And it's not like they even had to do much for it, China was willing to just lift all these restrictions and start buying more soybeans from us . I mean, it's a pretty big deal, I guess, but at the same time, it feels kinda... easy . Did they really have to work that hard to get this deal done? And what about the fentanyl thing? Like, is that really something we should be working with China on? It just seems kinda odd to me .

so now china is like "hey us, we'll stop being all mean and restrictive about our goods" and trump's all like "yay, deal! I guess it's not all bad when the guy who thinks a toilet seat should be worth at least $5 is having diplomatic success . and fentanyl? great, so now we're all buddies with china on that too... meanwhile, i'm still waiting for someone to actually do something about the actual problems we have here...

Trump's "rare earth" deal is like trying to solve a puzzle blindfolded while being attacked by a swarm of bees . But hey, at least he got China to buy more soybeans ️, that's gotta count for something!
