First Thing: Trump says rare earths deal and tariff cut agreed with China

US President Donald Trump has announced that a deal has been reached with China to reduce tariffs on Chinese goods. The rare earths trade, which was a major point of contention between the two nations, will be lifted.

In exchange for lifting the restrictions, Beijing agreed to remove export controls and buy more US soybeans. In addition, China would no longer impose any export restrictions on rare earths.

The announcement came after crucial talks in South Korea involving Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump said that he had spoken with Xi about working together to prevent the production of fentanyl, a highly addictive opioid. As part of the agreement, Trump stated that he will lower fentanyl-linked tariffs from 20% to 10%.

omg can u believe it?? 🀯 they actually reached an agreement! i was thinking the world was gonna end if they didn't resolve this trade thingy... now we just have to wait and see how it all plays out. did you know that china is one of our biggest importers of soybeans? like, it makes total sense for them to wanna buy more from us. but at the same time, i'm kinda worried about what this means for other countries who might get hurt by our 'new' trade deal... what do u think? πŸ€”

omg did u see that new ep of star trek: picard?? πŸš€ i'm not even kidding, it's so good!!! they're like 30 years in the future and still dealing with politics 🀣 but anyway back to china & US trade... i feel bad for soybeans lol who knew they were such a big deal? πŸ˜‚ rare earths tho, that stuff is like liquid gold or something 🌎 we really need it for our tech & eco goals, glad china's agreeing to help out πŸ™

πŸ€” I'm surprised it took this long for both countries to come to an agreement πŸ•°οΈ. The whole trade war thing was getting pretty intense 😬. I mean, who wants a global trade war? Not me, that's for sure πŸ’Έ. Anyway, the fact that China is lifting those export controls and buying more soybeans from us is a win-win πŸŒΎπŸ‘. And I'm glad Trump mentioned fentanyl – it's such a serious issue 🚨. Reducing the tariffs on that stuff will definitely help with the problem. It's always good to see some common sense being applied in these types of talks πŸ’‘. Fingers crossed this deal holds and we can all go back to buying and selling goods without all the drama 😐.

πŸ€” think this is good news for both sides, we've been hearing about this trade war for ages and it's nice to see some progress πŸš€ the soybean deal is a nice touch too, US farmers are always struggling to make ends meet πŸ’Έ but on the other hand i'm not sure how much of an impact this will have on the everyday consumer, i mean we've seen deals like this before and they usually don't quite live up to expectations πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ still, better than nothing, and it's a start 😊

I'm loving this news! Finally some sanity in our trade wars πŸ™ŒπŸ’Έ I mean, who doesn't want more Chinese goods coming into the States? It's like a weight has been lifted off our shoulders. And let's be real, soybeans are still gonna fly out of the US, so it's all good on that front 🌾😊

I'm also glad to hear about the fentanyl thing - it's like, come on guys, we can work together on this one πŸ€πŸ’” China's been cracking down hard and I'm sure they're tired of being painted as some kind of villain. And Trump's right, 10% is still pretty steep, but at least he's moving in the right direction.

So, fingers crossed that this deal sticks and we can actually see some real progress 🀞πŸ’ͺ Now let's just hope our own politicians don't screw it up πŸ˜‚

πŸ€” This news sounds like a total game-changer for trade between US and China! I'm not entirely convinced it's a done deal yet tho 🚨. I mean, we've seen a lot of back-and-forth in the past with these two superpowers... what if Beijing decides to pull out on some of the promises? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ The fact that they agreed to lift export controls on rare earths is a big win for US tech companies who rely on those elements for everything from smartphones to cars. However, I'm also curious to know more about how this deal will impact jobs in both countries... will we see an influx of Chinese soybeans flooding the US market? 🌾

OMG u guys! 🀯 I'm literally still in shock over this news - like how did we even get here?! So China & the US are finally making nice after all those trade wars and tensions... it's about time, right? πŸ˜‚ But seriously, what a huge deal this is! The tariffs thing is gonna be a game changer for both countries. I mean think of all the money that's gonna flow back & forth now. And rare earths, oh man - that was like the elephant in the room everyone was avoiding talking about. So it's awesome to see them finally make progress on that front too.

But what really gets me is how this all came together over a fentanyl thing... like how Trump & Xi Jinping had a heart-to-heart (or something) in South Korea and now we've got a deal. It's crazy how much of a difference one conversation can make, right? 🀝 And the fact that they're also lowering those fentanyl tariffs is just a win-win for everyone involved. I'm not gonna lie, I'm feeling pretty optimistic about this whole thing 😊. Maybe we're finally seeing some real progress towards world peace... or at least trade peace πŸ˜‚

I'm not sure what's going on with these trade deals πŸ€”. It sounds like the US and China are just trying to make each other happy so they can sell their goods without all the drama πŸ’Έ. I mean, who needs 20% tariffs on soybeans? 🌾 That's a lot of extra money that could be spent on, you know, important stuff. But hey, if it means more US farmers are selling their beans and China is getting access to those rare earths they need for fancy tech gadgets πŸ€–, then I guess it's a win-win πŸŽ‰. What really worries me though is that this deal doesn't actually stop the production of fentanyl in China πŸ’”. It just seems like a Band-Aid solution to the whole opioid crisis πŸ˜•.

omg u guys i cant even believe what just happened!!! so china and us finally got their act together and came to some sorta deal lol like i know there was a lot of tension between the two countries but it seems like they were able to put all that aside and work something out πŸ€”

i mean think about it we used to be like enemies or whatever πŸ˜‚ and now we're trading soybeans like its nobodies business 🌾 this deal is huge for us farmers and stuff and im not even gonna lie i'm a little excited for the prospect of lower fentanyl-linked tariffs πŸ™

and lets be real who doesnt want more access to rare earths right? πŸ˜‚ china's been holding out on that one for ages and now its like we finally got our way πŸ’₯ so yeah im feeling pretty good about this whole thing πŸ‘

🀝🌎️ just heard this news πŸ“° and i'm like wow 😲! think it's super cool πŸ‘ that china and usa are coming together on this rare earths trade πŸŒ€... been a big deal for ages πŸ’ͺ. hope it means more good stuff comes out of this 🀞... soybeans, yeah! 🌽️ can't complain about that πŸ€—... now let's see if trump's fentanyl talk is for real πŸ€”... gotta believe the usa and china are on the same page here πŸ‘«. fingers crossed it means less harm from those nasty opioids πŸ’ŠπŸ˜·

just hope this deal holds for real 🀞, been hearing similar promises from china before and it all ends up being just words on paper πŸ“. what i really want to see is some actual change in the way china handles its exports, especially rare earths 🌎. can't help but think that this might be a clever move by trump to get chinese dollars into us economy πŸ’Έ, which could benefit us farmers who produce soybeans πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ. still, only time will tell if this is just another short-term fix πŸ•°οΈ

πŸ€” so yeah, China's gonna start buying more soybeans from us and we're gonna get some concessions on those rare earths... about time, right? I mean, who needs a superpower like China to dictate trade terms with the world's largest economy? And let's not forget about fentanyl - that's just great news for the opioid epidemic in the US. Lowering tariffs from 20% to 10% is basically a minor victory, considering the bigger picture... 😊

yeah, just what we need another trade deal that's all based on shifting sands... like rare earths, right? πŸ€” who knows how long this deal holds up? and oh great, more soybeans flying around... can't we just cut the middleman already? 🌾 as for fentanyl, I mean it's one thing to talk about stopping its production, but what about the actual production that's happening now? we should be focusing on addressing the root causes rather than just tweaking numbers... also, 20% tariff is still a pretty steep price to pay...

I mean China is like the ultimate trading buddy now... who needs friends when you can just trade your way into their hearts and pockets? lol. But seriously, this deal is a big win for US farmers, especially those soybean farmers who've been crying themselves to sleep at night thinking about all that lost revenue. And kudos to Trump for actually doing something productive for once... I know, I know, it's shocking! Anyway, can you imagine if other countries had to deal with Xi Jinping and his, ahem, "diplomatic" skills? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£. Rare earths trade lifted, tariffs dropped, and fentanyl reductions - who knew diplomacy could be so... well, diplomatic?

Just got word of this trade deal between the US and China 🀝... I'm kinda surprised they actually managed it, considering how heated things got in the past πŸ˜‚. But now that it's done, I think it's a big win for both sides - more goods are gonna flow and prices might even start to come down πŸ’Έ. The fact that China agreed to lift those export controls on rare earths is a major deal too 🌎. And Trump's talking about working together on fentanyl? That's a great move, can't have that stuff spreading any further πŸ€•. Still gotta wonder what the long game looks like here... are they just making peace or is this a setup for something else? πŸ€”

So the US and China just dodged a trade war bullet 🀝. I'm thinking like this:

[diagram: two countries connected by a bridge]
US -> China (tariff reduction)
China -> US (soybean import boost)
China -> US (export controls lifted on rare earths)

The fentanyl deal is a nice touch too πŸ’‘. Trump's willingness to compromise is a good thing, but we'll see how it plays out in the long run πŸ•°οΈ. The real test will be whether China follows through on its commitments and if the US can keep its end of the bargain.

[diagram: two people shaking hands with a scale in between]
Balance is key πŸ’―. Let's hope both countries can find common ground and avoid any future trade wars 😬

omg just heard abt this deal btw i think its kinda cool that US & china r finally workin out their differences, like, who dont wanna more soybeans anyway lol but seriusly tho, i think this trade deal is a big win 4 both sides, especially w/ the rare earths thing it makes sense 4 china to open up export cuz they need those minerals 2 make all kinda tech stuff. idk about fentanyl tho, thats still a pretty messed up issue πŸ€• but at least trump said he'll lower tariffs on it, that's somethin' 😊

πŸ€” I'm kinda surprised by this deal, you know? I mean, it's been years since these two have had some kind of trade negotiation and it seems like it actually worked. The fact that they're lifting the restrictions on rare earths is a big win for China and for anyone working in tech - those things are basically essential for all our gadgets. But I'm also kinda worried about the fentanyl thing, you never know what's going to come out of these talks. Trump saying he'll lower the tariffs on that stuff seems like a good first step, but I'd rather see some real action on cracking down on production and distribution.

Also, it's interesting that they agreed on buying more soybeans - that's gotta be a big help for US farmers or whatever. It's not super exciting news, but it's definitely a positive development. Fingers crossed it sets the stage for something bigger...
