Louis Rees-Zammit: Wales wing issues 'positive' update on fitness return

Wales Wing Hoping for Positive Fitness Update as Autumn Games Loom

Wales wing Louis Rees-Zammit, who has not played international rugby in over two years after switching to American football, is hoping to be fit for the opening autumn game against Argentina on November 9th. The 24-year-old back was spotted training separately with fellow wing Rio Dyer and Ospreys lock Rhys Davies at an open session at the Principality Stadium today.

Rees-Zammit has been working hard to get his fitness levels back up, having signed a season-long deal at Bristol in August after returning to rugby union. The injury he suffered earlier this month meant he was unable to participate with the rest of the squad during their public training session.

"My foot is feeling good," Rees-Zammit told the crowd at the Principality Stadium. "I've just been running for a few days and trying to get it ready for next week, but it's looking positive."

Rees-Zammit has had a tumultuous time in rugby since switching from American football, failing to play a competitive game while representing his country. However, he is now keen to re-establish himself as an integral part of Wales' team.

"It feels amazing to be back in rugby," Rees-Zammit said. "I went out there and tried it out, but I'm happy to be back. It's great to see all the boys again and having a new coaching staff is fantastic."

Rees-Zammit, along with Dyer and Davies, was involved in an open training session at the Principality Stadium today where fans were able to watch them train. This marked their first time on the field together since joining the Welsh squad.

The return of Rees-Zammit marks a significant boost for Wales ahead of the upcoming autumn games. The team will be looking to restore home comforts in Cardiff, having not won an international game at the Principality Stadium in over two years.

So now that LZR's back from his American football sabbatical, I'm sure he'll magically transform into the wing that everyone thought he was before he switched teams 🤣🏉. Meanwhile, it's been a while since we've seen him play for Wales, and by "while", I mean TWO YEARS 😂. I mean, who needs consistent form when you can get back on the pitch after a year out and suddenly become the same wing everyone loved? Give me a break, LZR... show us what you're made of! 🤦‍♂️

OMG 🤩, I'm so excited for Louis Rees-Zammit 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿! He's been through a tough time since switching to American football 🏈, but it looks like he's finally getting his fitness back on track ⚡️. I'm hoping he'll be able to play in the autumn game against Argentina 🇦🇷 and help Wales win 💪. The Principality Stadium is always electric 🎟️, and having Rees-Zammit back will definitely give them a boost 😊. Fingers crossed for him and the team 🤞! 👍

OMG I'm so stoked for Louis Rees-Zammit 🤩! He's been through a rough patch since switching to American football, but it's great to see him getting back into rugby and looking positive about his fitness 🏈🏃‍♂️. I mean, 24 is still pretty young, so he's got plenty of time to get back to his best and re-establish himself with the Wales team ⏰. Fingers crossed for a strong comeback performance against Argentina on November 9th 🦉!

omg did u see rees-zammit training with rio dyer & rhys davies?? he's been thru a wild time since switching to american football but it sounds like he's finally getting his fitness back on track 🏉👍 now lets hope he can stay healthy & get back into the team ASAP, wales needs him for the autumn games lol

🤔 So they're saying this guy is going to magically be fit in time for the big match against Argentina? 🤷‍♂️ I don't buy it. He's been out of the sport for like 2 years, training with American football and now he's just gonna hop back into international rugby without any issues? 😒 That's not how it works. You gotta come back from that kinda break with a solid conditioning program in place, not just "running for a few days" 🏃‍♂️. And what about the injury? Did he even get cleared by the medical team to start training again? 🤔 Don't wanna see him end up getting hurt again and missing the game... that would be a total bummer 😞

I'm tellin' ya, something fishy is goin' on here! First off, Rees-Zammit's come back from American football, which is already a big change, but then he's gotta deal with this injury and now he's trainin' solo? It's like they're hidin' somethin'. And what's up with him bein' back in time for the autumn games? That's just too convenient. I'm thinkin' maybe he was never really out of commission, but they wanted to make a big show about it. And have you seen those new coaching staff members? They're like ghosts from nowhere! It's all a bit too smooth, if you ask me 🤑💡
